Why does a new home construction project cost so much?
New home construction projects are priced by a bid process. The bigger the home the more it will cost. However, at Drywall On Call our bids are often times lower then other contractors because we’re so specific in our niche and the labor costs are lower because of efficiency. Please don’t think that we are like all the other drywall professionals because we’re not. Give us a call and we can talk about your project.
What is the timeline for the project?
This will depend on many things but most of all we are sometimes at the mercy of all the other contractors in from of us such as the plumbers and the electricians, etc. If they fall behind then everyone behind them falls behind. This is very common in the building industry as many factors come into play with timelines.
How do you budget the project?
Many factors come into play with new home construction but it’s mostly based on square footage of the home that needs drywall and materials. Once that is determined then we estimate labor costs.
Is difficulty of the project factored into your price?
Yes. If you have vaulted ceilings and a silo element with curves and angles then we will have to use special equipment and a team of lead workers to do the job properly. But the pricing is based on experience as well. We don’t gauge anyone on price based on difficulty. Our team has seen and performed just about every challenging drywall project you can think of.
